"I attended Alissa's beginner series earlier this year (in fact I completed it twice to boost my confidence) and really couldn't recommend it more. I had tried yoga previously and was put off by large class sizes and a very impersonal atmosphere that left me feeling completely out of my depth. Alissa's classes could not have been more different. She is a wonderful teacher who takes the time to look after each individual class member, is extremely patient and great at explaining things. If you are thinking of taking up yoga, don't think twice about contacting Alissa." - Catherine
"I attended Alissa's Beginners class last year and after a difficult year, decided to try again. Alissa offers a friendly, helpful and fun introduction to yoga. She seems to have unending patience and a passion in her own practice to help anyone succeed in their own. I would recommend her to anyone." -James
"Re-starting my yoga journey on one of Alissa's beginner series was the best thing I could have done for my practice! The classes are so friendly and well paced. I feel I have a much better understanding of yoga and my practice since joining Alissa's classes." -Laura

If I could give more then 5 stars I would. Thank you so much Alissa for such fabulous classes." -Susan
"Just completed the 4 week beginners course, for someone who has the flexibility of a plank of wood, the course has been a really great introduction to Yoga. Really looking forward to progressing to the next level." -Simon
starting your journey...
Yoga is an ancient philosophy that combines asana (physical postures), mindful breathing, relaxation and meditation. It is the union of the body, mind and breath using physical and mental disciplines to calm the mind and make the body healthier. Yoga is an art of self realisation. It is an art of living.
Yoga is for everyone and is to be modified for each individual. It can be low impact or very physically demanding. The beauty of yoga is that our practice is our own and is adapted to each person's needs whether it be strength, flexibility, meditation, focus or relaxation.
In my 4 week Introduction to Yoga Beginner Series, you will learn the basics of pranayama (breathing techniques), asanas (strengthening and stretching physical postures), meditation and relaxation. You will be taught how to modify postures to prevent injury and strengthen your body. This course will provide you the foundation to begin your yoga practice in a safe and welcoming environment.
Class size is limited to allow for individual attention and questions. Classes run monthly and fill up quickly. The cost for this 4 week series is £45.
**Please note that no refunds or transfers to future series will be offered if less than 2 weeks notice is given before the start of the series registered for.
